About
Julie
Julie opened Julie Turner Stage Academy back in 1987 and is still as passionate about the school today.
Julie started dancing at the age of 2 years 6 months with Pat Bellamy.
After taking part in many local shows she then moved to Claire Mayfield school of dance, performing in shows, taking exams in the AAD syllabus along with running a branch school. This then escalated into opening her own school in 1987.
During this time thousandss of students have passed through the school, some going on to dance professionally, some just as a hobby but each one equally important. The link with DOS started with Goldilocks panto and continues to this day. Julie is taking more of a back seat now though she still goes into class almost every day, takes ballet classes and exam private lessons.

Client Testimonials
Julie Turners stage academy has been nothing but incredible for our two daughters they are more than just any old dance school they are one big family not just supporting children through their dancing journey but also there to support them no matter what they always take time to check in with the little ones no matter how big they get ! Even the students check in on each other and cheer each other on from the wings which is exactly what you want with a dance school . Not only that they provide such huge opportunities for the children from school shows to panto, presentation evenings to Drayton manor dance festivals , competitions for the festival teams to dancing in Disney land Paris the opportunities are endless . Every achievement is celebrated not matter how big or small no student is ever overlooked and all are given an equal opportunity to shine . I personally can’t Thankyou guys enough for the experience you have provided our girls with you are helping them to achieve every little girls dream dancing under stage lights !
TEAM JTSA one be family !
My daughter has danced with JTSA since she was 13 months (I secretly loved joining in with Baby Ballet). She’s now 12 and she absolutely loves everything about dancing. I have seen her grow from a very shy girl who wouldnt speak to anyone, into a 12 year old who has the confidence to do solos. The opportunities she has been given through dancing are amazing – dancing at Disney twice by the age of 11! She competes at festivals and performs in the local pantomime and couldn’t be happier when she’s on stage. Her dance friends are like a second family. Miss J and Miss Julie have nurtured her and helped her develop into a confident dancer – long may it continue!
